Pinellas schools offer free driver's ed

Parents who love – truly love – their 15-year-old yet hesitate to jump into a two-ton, highly-flammable vehicle with the teen at the wheel, can give Pinellas schools a big thank you this summer.

The school system is offering free driver’s ed classes this June and July to both public and private school students who are at least 15 and have a learner’s permit or operator’s license by the time classes begin.

Classes in each of the 10-day sessions run from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 12 high schools throughout the county. Students will get the boot if they miss two classes.

Registration began Feb. 4. Click here for the program dates and the details on registering.
