Shady Hills, Quail Hollow elementary schools could close for major upgrades
Pasco superintendent Kurt Browning has big plans in store for students attending two elementary schools.
Children at Shady Hills Elementary School would move to Crews Lake Middle next year, making Crews Lake the district's first experiment with the K-8 school model.
Children at Quail Hollow Elementary, meanwhile, would head to either Westchase or Watergrass elementary schools.
Both moves are based on the administration's desire to get moving on long-needed renovations at both Shady Hills and Quail Hollow, two of the district's nine 1970s-era Kelley-designed schools.
The School Board has approved major renovations of all nine Kelley schools as part of its 12-year plan and its Penny for Pasco project list. But before the moves take place, Browning will ask the board to sign off on his ideas. See the full story for more details.
