Student art in South County
A grant-funded project at one of Hillsborough County's career centers produced a set of murals that can be seen in this post, which includes a photo album.
The district hired local artist Michael Parker to supervise the project.
The results are on display at the South County Career Center in Ruskin.
South County is one of four career centers where over-age students who struggled in conventional schools can earn diplomas while training for the workforce.
Separately, the district has extended its deadline for LEAD, a student art and essay contest that recognizes local African American leaders, to Friday at 4 p.m. LEAD stands for Learn, Empower, Advocate and Dream.
