Tampa Catholic High gets new principal
The Diocese of St. Petersburg didn't have to look far to find a principal for Tampa Catholic High School.
After a national search, the diocese selected Robert Lees, an assistant principal at Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, to lead Tampa Catholic effective July 1. Tampa Catholic's current principal, Tom Reidy, has accepted a position at a Catholic school in Michigan.
According to a press release, Lees, a Cleveland, Ohio native, has spent his entire career in Catholic education as a teacher, coach, athletic director and assistant principal. He served at Cardinal Mooney for the past 13 years.
“Bob understands every facet of running a school. Most importantly, he has the faith and dedication that we need to lead Tampa Catholic into the future," Chris Pastura, the diocese's superintendent, said in a statement.
