UF to hold first admissions open house
University of Florida officials again expect to have nearly five times more applicants than seats for its next freshman class when the final count is made.
The high level of interest has prompted the university to offer some advice to high school students on how to stand out in a crowd of 29,000 candidates vying for 6,000 seats. It plans to host its first-ever admissions open house for freshmen, sophomores and juniors during the week of Thanksgiving, when many school districts are closed.
The event is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 25 in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center at the corner of Gale Lemerand Drive and University Avenue. Parking is free. Students must register online, and attendance is limited to 1,000 students each accompanied by one parent or guardian.
Registration is open at ufl.gotocollegefairs.com. Questions can be sent to email@example.com. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions at 352-392-1365.
