USF names interim health leaders
The University of South Florida announced Friday the two people who will lead USF Health during the national search for a permanent leader.
Dr. Harry van Loveren, chair of the Morsani College of Medicine Neurosurgery Department, and Dr. Donna Petersen, dean of the College of Public Health, will start as interim leaders Aug. 12. Van Loveren will serve as interim dean of the Morsani College of Medicine and Petersen will serve as interim CEO of USF Health. They step in for Dr. Stephen Klasko, who starts a new job as president of Thomas Jefferson University and CEO of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital System in September. The search for Klasko's permanent replacement is already in progress.
“I am confident these two individuals will provide steady and visionary leadership for USF Health, our students, faculty, staff and, of course, the thousands of patients who depend on USF Health for excellent and life-saving care,” USF president Judy Genshaft said in a statement.
