USF System launches guaranteed admission program with regional Florida colleges
TAMPA — The operating word of a new guaranteed admission program at the University of South Florida System is “seamless.”
Here’s how it works. Students attend regional Florida College System schools, such as Hillsborough Community College or St. Petersburg College, for their associate’s degree.
Then they’re guaranteed admission to any USF System school, for any degree program of their choosing, to complete their bachelor’s.
Along the way, they’ll get academic advising from both institutions, and they’re welcome to take advantage of activities and events at USF so they can feel like part of the university before officially enrolling. Their courses will be synced, so the pathway to graduation is clear and timely.
To give a ceremonious start to the FUSE program, USF is hosting USF FUSE Day this Friday, Oct. 21. Attending students will get a tour of the Tampa campus and face time with college leaders, including USF’s provost, the regional chancellors of USF St. Petersburg and USF Sarasota-Manatee, and presidents from many regional colleges in the area.
We’ll have more on the program later this week.
