Who will oversee Pasco district's teaching and learning department?

23

March

It's been a month since the Pasco School Board transferred Steve Williams to the principalship of the county's newest elementary school, leaving the director of teaching and learning job open.

Three finalists emerged from about all the applicants, and they had their interviews nearly two weeks ago. Superintendent Kurt Browning was expected to name someone to the post before spring break.

The announcement never came, though, leaving the position open to continued speculation.

Two of the remaining hopefuls are locals -- curriculum senior supervisor Rayann Mitchell and literacy program coordinator Tom Osmun -- while one is from out out town. Lea Mitchell is principal of Eagleview Elementary in Thornton, Colo.

Look for an appointment in time for the School Board's next meeting in April.
