Bob Putnam, Rodney Page, Kelly Parsons

It's The People's All-Tampa Bay Football team

We hit up Twitter and Facebook, and of course the blog, to see what you people, The People as we call you in the office, had to say. We had some knowledgable local football fans -- the folks who do our chats and comment and know their stuff -- vote, and saw a few players and coaches jump in there too. That's exactly what we were looking for. We tossed out a few votes (those that were obviously stuffing the ballot box), and made this as fair as possible, and here's what YOU, the 60 of you who graciously took the time to vote, came up, the first-ever The People's All-Tampa Bay Football Team:

Zain Gilmore, QB, Robinson: The senior threw for 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns, and also rushed for 912 yards and 15 touchdowns. And in the big games, he was his best -- Gilmore's three 100-yard rushing games came against Lakewood, Plant and Pasco, and in eight of 14 games this season he rushed for at least a score and threw for one too in leading his team further than any other this season.

Top finishers
1. Gilmore: 17 votes.
2. Pete DiNovo, QB, East Lake: 12
3. Robert Davis, RB, Carrollwood Day: 9
4. Will Worth, QB, Newsome: 4
4. Juwan Brown, QB, Largo: 4

Vernon Hargreaves, DB, Wharton: Hargreaves, the top-rated safety in the country according to ESPN, received votes at a number of positions. Yeah, he's that good. Hargreaves had 110 tackles and five interceptions at his best position, but he also ran for two TDs, caught two TD passes and blocked a kick or two everytime Friday Night Rewind was out to see him.

Top finishers
1. Hargreaves: 20 votes
2. Leon McQuay III, S, Armwood: 8
3. Joey Ivie, DL, Pasco: 6
4. Rocky Enos, LB, Wharton: 4
5. Jordan Griffin, Armwood, Bruce Hector, Robinson, Nahshon Simmons, Robinson and Trey Watson, Tampa Catholic all tied with 2.

Mike DePue, Robinson: Well, duh. DePue grabbed 32 of the votes, so it was pretty much unanimous. And if The People we're hiring a staff, they'd want Durant's Mike Gottman (5 votes), Plant's Bob Weiner (3) and East Lake's Bob Hudson, Alonso's Brian Emmanuel and Carrollwood Day's Lane McLaughln (all with 2 votes) on it.
