It’s easy to focus on the bad news in high school sports – the scandals and the injuries and questionable sportsmanship.

So here’s a feel-good story on a sunny Friday, from the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

At a recent high school cross country race, Seth Goldstein saw a runner in front of him fall. The boy’s lips were blue, and blood was coming from his mouth.

Goldstein, who has worked as a lifeguard, stopped. He told someone to call 911. He took charge of the situation. Then, when the ambulance came, he finished the race.
