Oklahoma Sooners love Simon, Striker; Dudley-Giles impressing UMass
A couple quick updates on area football players who signed in February.
Former Pasco ATH Trey Dudley-Giles has earned praise from coaches at UMass, MassLive.com reports. Dudley-Giles played receiver, cornerback and kick returner with the Pirates but is focusing on cornerback in college.
Armwood product Eric Striker looked good in Oklahoma hitting drills as a linebacker for the Sooners. Oklahoma linebackers coach Tim Kish told the Tulsa World that he has no plans to redshirt Striker.
“I can see why,” my former colleague Guerin Emig writes in a blog post. “Wow.”
My Oklahommies also are buzzing on Twitter about Gibbs’ Gary Simon. Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops said recently that the cornerback could be tremendous and that he’s “everything we thought he’d be.”
