Recruiting drama in Miami & generous running backs
Two recruiting links to share on the Friday before signing day, which I’ve arbitrarily decided to call Blue-Chip Friday. You know, like Black Friday? OK, onto the links:
* This story from the Miami Herald made the rounds on Twitter last night. The Hurricanes pulled their scholarship offer to Miami Washington lineman Denver Kirkland…a few hours after coach Al Golden visited the school and said everything was fine.
Washington’s coach, Tim “Ice” Harris – a former UM assistant – isn’t too happy about it. He told the Herald he will “never help them again.”
Kirkland, according to the Herald, is now considering USF, FSU, Ole Miss and Arkansas.
* In other news, I enjoyed this SI.com piece by Andy Staples on how running back recruits have warmed up to the idea of sharing carries in college.
