Something new: Pasco's standout freshman receiver
After focusing on “something old” in today’s paper, we’ll continue our theme tomorrow by exploring new things heading into Week 1.
Here’s a new name to remember at Pasco, this year and beyond: Nate Craig-Myers.
The 6-foot-3 freshman receiver has the tools to become one of Pasco County’s most dynamic players quickly. He has the bloodlines, too. His older brother is former Pirates star (and current Purdue defensive back) Josh Johnson, and he wears No. 9 just like his uncle, Trey Dudley-Giles, who earned co-player of the year honors in the North Suncoast last fall.
Craig-Myers had a solid debut in Pasco’s 21-7 preseason loss at Hernando. He rushed for 12 yards on his only carry and scored his team’s only touchdown, a 15-yard pass from QB Ben Chandler.
Craig-Myers finished with three of his team’s nine catches and 40 of Pasco’s 69 receiving yards.
