Texas Tech ditches recruits at dinner

12

December

Today's reminder of the recruiting craziness spun by the coaching carousel comes from Texas Tech, courtesy of 247Sports.com.

Tommy Tuberville and some assistants were at dinner with some recruits, including juco lineman Devonte Danzey. At some point, Tuberville apparently left the table, according to 247Sports.

“The waitress brought our food out, and we thought (Tuberville) went to the bathroom, but he never came back to dinner," Danzey told the site. "Then next thing I know, the next day, he made an announcement that he’s going to Cincinnati.”

I'm sure there's a lesson for high school players and recruits in there somewhere, when a major college coach leaves prospects at the table like bad dates to accept a head coaching job at another program.

At least Tech didn't stick the recruits with the bill. Right?

UPDATE: Cincinnati has issued a statement denying the site's report.
