Countryside's boys soccer team hands PHU first loss

Countryside's boys soccer team extended its win streak by knocking off previously undefeated and nationally ranked Palm Harbor University 4-3 on Monday.

The Hurricanes entered the game 9-0 and were ranked second overall in the state and ninth nationally by MaxPreps.

Kyle Furdakis scored two goals in the second half for the Cougars, the last tying the score. In the final two minutes of regulation, Countryside's Armin Bajric scored the winning goal on a penalty kick.

The four goals were the most PHU has allowed all season.

After starting the season 3-2, the Cougars have won five straight.

"We went down every time (against PHU) and never put our heads down," Bajric said.
