Notre Dame commit Dillan Gibbons transfers to Clearwater Central Catholic
Dillan Gibbons has left Northside Christian and will transfer to Clearwater Central Catholic. Gibbons, a 6-foot-6, 315 pound offensive lineman who is committed to Notre Dame, will be a second term junior and will begin classes at CCC in January.
“It is for religious reasons,’’ Gibbons’ father, Shannon, said.
This will be the fourth high school for Gibbons. As a freshman he was at St. Petersburg Catholic. He then transferred to Palm Harbor University but never attended classes. He spent his sophomore year and half of his junior year at Northside Christian and played two football seasons at the school.
Gibbons joins a CCC team that was 12-1 and advanced to the Class 3A region final. Longtime head coach John Davis recently retired. Former assistant coach Chris Harvey will be the new head coach.
