Puleo named head football coach at Seffner Christian

Just one month after longtime football coach Steve Lewis announced his retirement from Seffner Christian, the Crusaders selected Travis Puleo to become the next head football coach, the school announced Tuesday.

Puleo has been the offensive coordinator for the past three seasons and was the associate head coach during Seffner Christian's 2015 campaign, one in which the Crusaders went 6-4 in their first year of district play.

He will take over a team that graduates just seven seniors from its 44-man roster.

"I want to say what a privilege and honor it has been serving under coach Steve Lewis these past three years. I am grateful for the investment he has made in my life and for his Godly example as well," Puelo said in a statement. "I also want to thank Mr. Duncan and the SCA administration for this great opportunity to impact the lives of young men for the glory of God through the game of football."
