No sooner did we find out Amanda Bynes' mother Lynn dropped her petition for a permanent conservatorship for her daughter do we find out Amanda bailed on the UCLA Medical Center to go to rehab. Well, the doctors are supposed to know best.

The troubled actress has gone to The Canyon in Malibu, which doesn't have psychiatric facilities, TMZ reports. The big news is that she left UCLA about three weeks ago to check in to The Canyon. It seems she sticks to her room and doesn't interact with many people, and is paranoid about the paparazzi tracking her down.

Parents Lynn and Rick told the site that Amanda's doctors suggested the move. "Amanda was stuck with people in much worse condition than her. She was scared, afraid and did not leave her immediate room area," her parents' lawyer Tamar Arminak said. "She is getting specialized psych care, one on one treatment, not drug rehab."

How much does a month at The Canyon cost? About $55,000. That sounds like a lot, but when a hospital room in a psych ward costs $50,000 anyway, what's an extra $5k? Just be careful: TMZ points out The Canyon is the place with the employee that sold Brooke Mueller's confidential information in 2011, and had to settle with her for about $250,000.
