Brad Pitt files restraining order against red carpet attacker
It’s official. An entire task force should be devoted to keeping Vitalii Sediuk away from red — or this case blue — carpets.
The now former Ukrainian journalist with a history of getting creeptastically close to celebrities is at it again, and this time, his victim was Brad Pitt.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Sediuk was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges Wednesday night after he allegedly jumped over a fan area barrier at the El Capitan Theatre in Los Angeles and made contact with Pitt at the premiere of Maleficent.
The actor reacted Thursday by filing a restraining order against Sediuk, who was being held in lieu of $20,000 bail, according to the Associated Press.
This is the same guy who recently crawled under America Ferrera’s dress at the Cannes Film Festival, shoved his face in Bradley Cooper’s and Leonardo DiCaprio’s crotches earlier this year, kissed Will Smith at the premiere of Men in Black 3 and crashed Adele’s acceptance speech at the 2013 Grammys, earning himself a ban from the awards show.
Typically, there is extra security when big names like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are involved, so how this happened is hard to figure. In the past, Sediuk has gained access to press areas in the names of Russia Life News, Eurovision and the Ukrainian organization 1+1. It is unclear how he got so close at the Disney event, where an average onlooker would have had to leap over several barriers and make it through a large, empty area monitored by dozens of security and police officers.
