If you're already wondering what Breaking Bad mastermind Vince Gilligan has planned for his next move, turn your eyes back to broadcast networks. CBS has ordered a new drama from him for the 2014-15 season. Wouldn't you know, it involves crime.

The series, Battle Creek, is a cop drama about a pair of detectives with differeing methods trying to clean up the Michigan city, The Hollywood Reporter says. CBS took a look at the show way back in 2002 but passed, but  it seems Gilligan's name now carries more weight in TV land. The network has committed to 13 episodes and isn't even planning to update the original pilot script.

Gilligan has said he wants to direct if he has time, THR says, while House creator David Shore will write, executive produce and be the showrunner. Breaking Bad executive producer Mark Johnson will join the team, too. CBS had better be careful, or they might actually have a hit show that's not made by Chuck Lorre.
