Britney Spears sounds an awful lot like she's considering retirement
While critics are panning her new album Britney Jean, Britney Spears is gearing up for her Las Vegas show -- by telling Extra she might retire when her two-year-run is over. That's really thinking 96 shows ahead.
Mario Lopez asked her what she had in store after her run at Planet Hollywood (which doesn't even start until Dec. 27), and she had the kind of answer gossip outlets love to speculate about. "I might, who knows … I may have two more kids and get married … I'd like to have more kids," she said.
Well, Katy bar the door, that's obviously an admission she's out of the music business. And then she started talking about her new boyfriend David Lucado, who sounds like a fairly down-to-earth sort: "I think it does kind of help with dating someone not in the business, I could kinda understand if you’re dating someone in the business they’d understand what you’re going through every day and stuff. I feel like the chemistry kinda speaks for itself when you date someone out of the industry.”
Given Brit's long history of problems, maybe she should avoid pretty much everyone in the entertainment industry, period. It could do a world of good for her.
And that sounds like a great opening to tell the Juice* faithful that we're gearing up for a retirement of our own here. Joshua Gillin will be compiling his final round of blog posts on Friday, and will be replaced by Lydia Harvey, another do-it-all Swiss army knife here at tbt* (we've already changed the banner photo, ICYMI). She's got all the dry humor, but with much better fashion sense.
