Carey Mulligan makes a shortlist for Hillary Rodham Clinton biopic
While Hollywood gears up for 2016, a biopic of Hillary Rodham Clinton has been in the works for awhile now. Nothing's set in stone yet, but The Great Gatsby's Carey Mulligan is getting a strong look to play the former Secretary of State. That makes a little more sense than Scarlett Johansson.
ScarJo, Jessica Chastain and Emma Stone have been rumored to be in the running to play a young Clinton in the forthcoming Rodham, but no one can prove that, The Hollywood Reporter says. Mulligan, meanwhile, is getting ready to talk to director James Ponsoldt any day now.
That doesn't mean she has a lock on it, by any means, but the movie has become a hot ticket. It follows Hillary as a lawyer working on Richard Nixon's potential impeachment, struggling with her feelings for some guy named William Jefferson Clinton. He's trouble we tells ya.
