Channing Tatum's 'Magic Mike, The Musical' is headed to Broadway
We have to keep you up-to-date on native son Channing Tatum, so get ready for a trip to the Big Apple. His stripper saga is hitting Broadway in Magic Mike, The Musical. Yep.
Deadline Hollywood says Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey will be writing the songs for the production. They're the ones responsible for Next to Normal, which was a Tony and Pulitzer winner. Film director Steven Soderbergh and Tatum are among the producers.
The site also says Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa will be writing the book for the production, a job he assumed for the troubled Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark when it looked like that show would never leave previews. Half-naked men gyrating onstage for throngs of tourists? There's no way they'll lose money on that.
