If you happened to blink Monday afternoon you probably missed the fact that Chris Brown was in and out of jail again. Nobody seemed to know until after the fact, mostly because the stay was quick and unexpected.

Brown reported to the Van Nuys, Calif., jail Monday at 2:40 p.m. Pacific, was booked into the system two minutes later and was released at 3:22 p.m. without bail, MTV News reports. The 24-year-old's time stemmed from two charges of leaving the scene of an accident without providing information and driving without a license in his May hit-and-run case, for which he had pleaded not guilty and had his probation revoked.

TMZ added that Brown's attorney, Mark Geragos, worked out the whole scenario so Brown could report to the jail without any photographers present. They probably were all burned out from an appearance by 50 Cent at the adjacent courthouse on a different matter earlier in the day.

Terms of the deal aren't apparent, but Brown is due back in court on Aug. 19 for a hearing on his probation status. We would be absolutely shocked if the L.A. justice system didn't give him another chance. He already spent almost 45 minutes in jail, after all.
