Christina Aguilera may return to 'The Voice' for $12 million
While American Idol is likely to suffer an all-out massacre on its judging panel, The Voice is looking to bring Christina Aguilera back, and pay her as much as $12 million for her trouble. Boy, we wish we could leave The Juice* for the year and get paid eight figures to come back.
Aguilera left the show after three years to take a musical break, then must have suddenly realized no one is buying her albums, because she's likely to return for season five, The Hollywood Reporter says. Season four additions Shakira and Usher took over for Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green, who left the same time Xtina did.
Producer Mark Burnett shouldn't be surprised about the moves; He told THR last year that “these are current touring artists, so it’s a matter of balancing schedules. They’re all in demand, and we’re just balancing it all.” Does that mean Adam Levine or Blake Shelton may be going on hiatus as well? The ratings have gone down a little bit, so you never know.
