Adam Lambert accused of battery in Miami Beach
Adam Lambert's swing through Florida turned a bit violent in Miami Beach on Thursday, with the American Idol runner-up caught taking a swing at a paprazzo who was trying to snap his photo. The trouble started when the photographer decide to file charges against him. Oops.
Shooter Victor Eras told Miami Beach police that Lambert grabbed his backpack "where the camera was places" and "wrestled (the photographer) to the ground forcefully." Of course the incident was photographed by someone else, and those pics -- which The Juice* can't afford to buy, natch -- show the camera in the guy's hand, not in his backpack, for what it's worth. Lambert, meanwhile, didn't deny any of it.
"They're real good at provoking, but there ain't any pics or video of the b.s. they spew out... Haha well... I lost my temper for a sec but wow it felt great lol MIAMI!!!" he wrote via his Twitter account, @adamlambert. After finding out about the report accusing him of battery, he responded with, "Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground.... It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime -- thats all I'm guilty of."
Technically it's not "literally harmless" if you go grabbing some guy's camera and putting your painted fingernails all over him, although the shooter didn't report any cuts or bruises. There will be no criminal investigation, but the State Attorney's office will review the case to see if charges should be filed. But moreover, even with Saturday's show in Tampa Bay, Adam should be happier anybody cares enough about him to hound him for photos.
