Adele responds to Karl Lagerfeld calling her 'too fat'
We were hoping to avoid dealing with Karl Lagerfeld's comments about Adele, but the award-winning singer is striking back at comments that she's "too fat" and putting the fashion kingpin in his place. Dad was right: Never listen to any man who never takes his gloves off.
"I've never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines," the 23-year-old singer tells People. "I represent the majority of women and I'm very proud of that." She was responding to comments Lagerfeld made to Parisian newspaper Metro earlier this week, in which he said, "The thing at the moment is Adele. She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice." What a sweet, utterly backhanded compliment.
Really, though, who cares what a 78-year-old Skeletor lookalike says? The girl just got through throat surgery, and now she has to waste breath on a comment like that. Maybe she should invite him to lunch al fresco and watch him burst into flame out in the sun.
