Alec Baldwin punches photographer after getting marriage license

Believe it or not, Alec Baldwin has had another well-publicized outburst of uncontrollable rage, hulking out on a New York Daily News photographer who was taking his photograph outside New York's Marriage License Bureau on Tuesday. Good thing another photographer was there to take a photo of the first photographer getting punched in the face.

Photog Marcus Santos was waiting outside the building while the 54-year-old actor apparently went inside to get his marriage license with yoga instructor fiancee Hilaria Thomas. He took exception to the crew's presence on a public street taking photos of a public figure and came after Santos.

"He was looking mad. He said, 'Step back, step back.' I said, 'We're moving back,'" Santos told the paper. He said Baldwin then got ahold of DN shooter Jefferson Siegel, so Santos shouted back. "I said, 'Don't touch him,'" the 42-year-old Santos said. "I knew he was going to attack me. I  stepped back, and he kept coming. He comes after me, starts shoving and punching me — one time, right in the chin. And then he started shoving me, and pushing me. Then he goes the other way."

Other paparazzi at the scene corroborated the story, but photos Siegel took pretty much tell the whole story. We don't legally have access to those pics, but you can see them here.

Baldwin rep Matthew Hiltzik responded to the allegations of fisticuffs, giving this account of the morning to People: "As Alec and his fiancee were leaving City Hall, a 'civilian' walking in front of Alec positioned himself to obstruct the view of a photographer aggressively trying to shoot the couple. The photographer was clearly frustrated, pushed past the bystander and assaulted Alec with his camera. There were no punches thrown, and any subsequent physical contact was simply Alec protecting himself."

Baldwin himself started spouting on Twitter, posting via @alecbaldwin, "A "photographer" almost hit me in the face with his camera this morning. ‪#allpaparazzishouldbewaterboarded" before adding, "I suppose if the offending paparazzi was wearing a hoodie and I shot him, it would all blow over..."

Hoo boy. No wonder Santos later went to a doctor to have his wound checked out. At the rate newspapers are losing money, getting punched by Alec Baldwin is a gold mine.
