Alec Baldwin says '30 Rock' is ending next season
Alec Baldwin hasn't been hiding the fact that he wants to quit TV, but now he's saying that next season will be 30 Rock's last, and, well, we take those as fighting words. We say good day, sir! Good day!
"I will tell you one thing," Baldwin told New York magazine, "and that is our show next year is our last year of the show." And why is that, Mr. Donaghy? Because Tina Fey is the one leaving. "Our contracts are expired (in 2012), and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She's going to be the next Elaine May. She'll be great."
It's a regular lovefest with these two, with Fey saying in her new book Bossypants that Baldwin is to credit for 30 Rock's success, and now him praising her and saying the show's over without her. Our take: They're both right. With no Jack or Liz Lemon, it would be time to say so long to TGS. Blerg.
