Amanda Bynes charged with DUI, asked Obama for help
Amanda Bynes has officially been charged with DUI for her April arrest, which involved a sideswiped police cruiser and her trying to make a break for it, but the good news is she wasn't charged with hit and run. See, there's an upside to getting caught by the cops.
The Sydney White actress was hit with one count of misdemeanor DUI for the incident, but the district attorney wants a sentencing enhancement because Bynes wouldn't take a blood-alcohol test at the scene, TMZ reports. She faces a minimum of 48 hours in jail and a max of six months, but given L.A.'s jail overcrowding, she'll be lucky to even walk into county for 10 minutes -- just ask Lindsay Lohan.
Bynes tried to beat the charge in an unusual way: She asked President Barack Obama for help. "Hey @BarackObama... I don't drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don't hit and run. The end." she tweeted via @AmandaBynes on Tuesday. It doesn't seem to have helped.
