'American Horror Story' season 2 location revealed
American Horror Story is returning to FX for it second season soon, so it's time for the show's creators to pony up some dish, don't you think? That's why Ryan Murphy revealed both a location and some clues about the show's new characters -- especially helpful, since it would be difficult for Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton to move to a new house.
"(Season 2) is set on the East Coast at an institution for the criminally insane that is run by Jessica (Lange)," Murphy said at an event for the show Wednesday, according to the Hollywood Reporter. "It's a completely different world and has nothing to do with Season 1; there's not a mention of Season 1. The second season is set in a completely different time period."
But besides Lange's return, we'll also see Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe, who will be back, but as different characters. New to the gang is French actress Lizzie Brochere and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine. Murphy even tipped his hand a bit about Adam: "He's a sexy guy so he needs to play a sexy guy, but the guy that is different than who you think he would play," he said. "I pitched him the part and he listened, slack jawed, and simply said, 'I'm in.'" Just so long as he dies a horrible, gory, painful death.
