'American Idol' may want Jessica Simpson as judge
Sure, we've heard that Justin Timberlake and Elton John were being eyeballed to take over a new panel of judges on American Idol, but Fox has someone else in mind: Jessica Simpson. It's not like she's got another album or movie to promote, anyway.
Simpson has had "several meeting" with producers, who apparently express "mutual interest," TMZ says. Of course, no one can confirm this, so we'll chalk this one up to somebody at the site still having fond memories of her playing Daisy Duke in The Dukes of Hazzard.
We're still wondering if Bret Michaels is in the running. If he is, possibly returning producer Nigel Lythgoe will have to keep those two separated.
