Amy Poehler returns to the Weekend Update desk
Believe it or not, the fall TV season is lurking in the shadows, preparing to pounce on us. The first big surprise so far? It seems Amy Poehler will be returning to the anchor desk for the new Saturday Night Live Weekend Update, a standalone show on Thursday, Sept 17. And yes, Seth Meyers will be there, not Tina Fey.
Sources tell Entertainment Weekly that the show will lead into the second season premiere of Poehler's Parks and Recreation at 8:30 p.m. The Office will be on after that, then a new show called Community. We have to wait for 30 Rock until Oct. 15.
Poehler, who left SNL last season to have her baby, will also appear on the Sept. 24 episode, but Meyers' cohort for the remaining four scheduled episodes is up in the air, EW says. We're pretty sure Colin Quinn would be available.
