Amy Poehler signs deal to write her first book

Not content to let Tina Fey get all the printed glory for BossypantsAmy Poehler has signed a deal to write her first book to appear in 2014. Hey, if Lena Dunham can score $3.7 million for a book she hasn't even written yet, Amy deserves way more, because hers will actually be funny.

Publisher It Books describes the tome as "an illustrated, nonlinear diary full of humor and honesty and brimming with true stories, fictional anecdotes and life lessons," according to the Hollywood Reporter. Financial terms were not disclosed, but it's probably fair to say it was a decent payday.

It Books editor Carrie Thornton said in a statement she was "blwon away by (Poehler's) creativity and her passion," THR ads. In other news, It Books editor Carrie Thornton just now started watching Season 2 of Parks and Recreation on Netflix -- the first season doesn't count.
