It turns out Amy Winehouse may really have kicked the habit before she died, as toxicology results have come back showing there were no illegal drugs in her system. She did have some alcohol in her bloodstream, but compared to the deadly cocktails she usually had in her veins, that's all but negligible.

"Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death," family spokesman Chris Goodman said in a statement, according to E!. "Results indicate that alcohol was present, but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death. The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October."

What The Juice* can't figure out is how the family's claims of alcohol withdrawal fit into this. If Amy did truly drink herself to death, you'd think her autopsy last month would have determined that. It looks like the mystery has only deepened -- we'll find out what happens in October.
