And yet we can't afford a 3/2 in Tampa Bay
“I’m so happy that Billy Joel is buying it, because it’s the perfect house for him,” the 74-year-old actor told Newsday. “He can put his piano on the second floor, overlook the beach and the farmland, and write beautiful music for all of us.” How sweet.
And while Joel won’t comment on the sale, it sounds much more definite than the deal The Fray’s Isaac Slade has going. The musician may be inheriting a $15-million English mansion from one Sir Benjamin Slade, a 60-year-old aristocrat with no children looking for an heir.
Isaac, who lives in Denver and may be a relation, said he and his wife Anna had visited Benjamin and his wife on the 150-acre estate, located 140 miles west of London.
“We had a wonderful couple of days with Ben and Kirsty, who were amazing hosts,” Isaac said. “For now, we’re all just getting to know each other.”
And yet, Isaac is unsure he’d even want the 13th-century mansion, which boasts three lakes, a ballroom and 150 head of cattle. Maybe Billy Joel is interested.
