Angelina Jolie visits Jordan, Demi Moore visits Miami, Stephen Colbert visits Senate seat
-- Angelina Jolie visited Syrian refugees at a camp just across the border in Jordan Wednesday and Thursday as part of her status as a special envoy to the U.N., the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reports. "I appeal to all sides in the conflict to do all they can to ensure the safe passage of these innocent civilians," she said, praising the border guards for their "incredible compassion." Of course, as you can see from the photo, paparazzi were still present.
-- Demi Moore was out and about in Miami with her new boyfriend, Vito Schnabel, which is apparently news for some reason, thanks to E!. Now, if it were in Ybor City, that'd be news. Or a refugee camp on the Syria-Jordan border.
-- For you Twitter folks, be sure to check out @ColbertforSC, an account that popped into existence for Stephen Colbert hours after South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint announced he was leaving the Senate, opening the seat for appointment by S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley. "Stephen is honored by the groundswell of support from the Palmetto State and looks forward to Governor Haley's call," Colbert publicist Carrie Byalick told Mother Jones. This would be much faster than his two failed presidential campaigns.
