Angry Justin Bieber fans vandalize Esperanza Spalding's Wikipedia page
As further proof you shouldn't rely on Wikipedia to write your term papers, angry Justin Bieber fans flocked to the Interwebs Sunday night to take potshots at the Grammy-winner for best new artist Esperanza Spalding by vandalizing her profile page. We knew plenty of Beliebers were a bit unhinged, but man, some of these folks are downright insane.
Gawker says over the course of a few hours, additions to Spalding's page included mouth-breathers writing comments such as "JUSTIN BIEBER DESERVED IT GO DIE IN A HOLE. WHO THE HECK ARE YOU ANYWAY?", "SHE IS F****** REATARD THAT NO ONE HAS HEARD OF SO B**** PLEASE DIE !" and "She now has the 2011 Grammy for being the Best new Artist! Even though no one has ever heard of her! Yay!" They also spent a lot of time writing in that her middle name was either "Quesadilla" or "Justin" -- all of which have been corrected, while the page was expanded, since she is, of course, the best new artist of 2011.
On the bright side, there seemed to be a lot of Bieber-haters defending her, adding notes along the lines of "HaHa Justin Bieber, you're just a little boy with no Grammy for Best New Artist.irehjbpojeh[ker" and noting she won the award by "beating out gay favorite Justina Bieber" (click here to read the editing notes). That's still nicer than a lot of racist things Beliebers were posting all over Twitter and Facebook. We can't condone that kind of thing, but hey, Biebs made more than $30 million for his 3-D flick Never Say Never, so who cares about a little statue of a record player?
