Anne Hathaway, James Franco 'hate each other' now
If it seemed like Anne Hathaway and James Franco didn't have any chemistry during Sunday's Oscars broadcast on ABC, it's because reports are saying they didn't. In fact, they really started to "hate each other," Us is saying. Hate might be a strong word, but man, we'd be ticked if our cohost acted all baked and goofy during our big hosting gig, too.
"She had to provide all the energy -- he was just phoning it in," a source tells the mag. That was backed up by another spy saying, "James seemed in his own little world. Producers were pissed." Franco seemed unhappy, too, bailing on his own after-party at L.A.'s The Writer's Room, a third source mentions: "He went immediately back to NYC because he was pissed about how the show went." Wait, he was the one who was slacking off; Anne just seemed a little tongue-tied and out of her league.
Of course, both stars' people deny that. "This is absolutely not true," Franco's rep told Us, while Hathaway's handlers noted, "Anne had a wonderful experience with him." Well, of course; who wants to be labeled as difficult to work with? Especially after a yawner like that.
