Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stan Lee create 'The Governator' cartoon and comic book

tbd-governator040111.jpgIn what is perhaps the worst idea since Hollywood decided to male a live-action version of Akira and set it in New York City, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Stan Lee are combining forces to create a cartoon and comic book character called -- wait for it -- The Governator. Well, at 63 it's not like Arnie's going to be doing any more real action movies.

"When I ran for governor back in 2003 and I started hearing people talking about 'the Governator,' I thought the word was so cool," former California Gov. Schwarzenegger tells Entertainment Weekly. "The word Governator combined two worlds: the world of politics and the movie world. And (this cartoon) brings everything together. It combines the governor, the Terminator, the bodybuilding world, the True Lies ..."

That sounds highly dubious, but don't take our word for it; Lee breaks down how it'll all work: "The Governator is going to be a great superhero, but he'll also be Arnold Schwarzenegger. We're using all the personal elements of Arnold's life. We’re using his wife (Maria Shriver). We're using his kids. We're using the fact that he used to be governor. Only after he leaves the governor’s office, Arnold decides to become a crime fighter and builds a secret high-tech crime-fighting center under his house in Brentwood."

Not only that, but he has a 13-year-old computer genius handling cybersecurity while he battles the evil Gangsters Imposters Racketeers Liars & Irredeemable Ex-cons. Yes, the G.I.R.L.I.E. Men. Man, maybe Justin Timberlake and Robert Pattinson in a live-action Akira isn't the worst thing we can think of.
