Arnold Schwarzenegger working on deal for his first post-office movie, 'The Last Stand'
It sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger has all but signed the dotted line to return to the big screen. You'll never guess the genre -- okay, it's an action movie.
The Hollywood Reporter says Arnie is in talks for The Last Stand, a Lionsgate project about a cartel leader who breaks out of a courthouse and runs for the Mexican border, with only a bordertown sheriff standing in his way. The sheriff would be Arnold, of course, and the director would be Jee-Woon Kim, a Korean helmer who made The Good, The Bad, The Weird, which sounds appropriate.
This exercise in cultural incongruity -- an Austrian playing a border sheriff chasing a Mexican in a movie directed by a Korean -- is slated to start in August. If they can come up with enough green to pay Arnold off, natch. Hey, it's just like politics!
