Ashton Kutcher makes racist ad for PopChips

Apparently Pop Chips, those annoyingly addictive little chips made out of popcorn you keep getting on airline flights these days, made a video with Ashton Kutcher about a fake dating website that shows the actor eating Pop Chips. Apparently Ashton did something racist by playing, among other characters, an Bollywood producer named Raj. Apparently people got upset about it. And apparently you won't find that video on the Pop Chips website anymore. That was money well spent!

"we received a lot feedback about the dating campaign parody we launched today and appreciate everyone who took the time to share their point of view," founder and CEO Keith Belling wrote on PopChips.com Wednesday. "our team worked hard to create a light-hearted parody featuring a variety of characters that was meant to provide a few laughs. we did not intend to offend anyone. i take full responsibility and apologize to anyone we offended."

What he should be apologizing for is his inability to use proper capitalization. As for the ad, is it racist? We have no idea. Is playing an Indian man with an accent any more racist than playing a biker named Swordfish or impersonating Karl Lagerfeld? This is The Juice*, not the Blackwell Encyclopedia of Sociology.
