Ashton Kutcher will play Steve Jobs in indie movie
With his divorce from Demi Moore pending, it's time for Ashton Kutcher to get serious about acting. So why not start with playing tech-nerd deity Steve Jobs in an indie film? Because surely, Ashton Kutcher's the first name that comes to mind when casting the first of what are sure to be a dozen biopics about Jobs.
Variety says Kutcher is attached to portray the driven and secretive genius in Jobs, directed by Swing Vote's Joshua Michael Stern and written by Matt Whiteley. The movie will follow Jobs from his hippie days up to his tenure as savior-king of the slavishly devoted Apple junkies.
When you think about it, having Ashton play Jobs isn't so weird; Lindsay Lohan is lining up work playing Elizabeth Taylor, after all. Sony, of course, is making it's own movie, based on Walter Isaacson's biography, Steve Jobs. It'll be like the dueling asteroids movies all over again!
