Aussie Mia Wasikowska is second on Forbes' highest-grossing actors' list
It's that time of year again, when Hollywood dumps out its stocking to see who put the most gifts in it. And by stocking, we mean Forbes' annual list of highest-grossing actors; and by the most gifts, we mean who made the most for studios, regardless of what the actors actually were paid. Ah, the season of giving!
No. 1 this year, not surprisingly, is Leonardo DiCaprio, whose movies Shutter Island and Inception helped bring in $1.1 billion at the box office. The big huhsaywha? of 2010, though, is No. 2: Australian actress Mia Wasikowska (above). The 20-year-old starred opposite Johnny Depp (who is No. 3) as Alice in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and was in The Kids Are All Right, bringing in $1 billion herself, though not by herself. Depp will likely eclipse that total as The Tourist with Angelina Jolie soldiers on through December.
Robert Downey Jr. claimed fourth with $807 million, Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe scored $780 million and Robert Pattinson took sixth with $749 million over Twilight costar Kristen Stewart's $698 million thanks to his turn in Remember Me. Erstwhile Avatar actor Sam Worthington rode Clash of the Titans to $494 million in receipts, while Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan both get counted for $359 million, thanks to The Karate Kid. Meanwhile, mom sent us a gift card to Target this Christmas, so we're totally gonna go buy a cheap henley and some batteries. Advantage: Juice*.
