Autopsy inconclusive for 'Macho Man' Randy Savage
From other places on tampabay.com:
The autopsy of "Macho Man" Randy Savage did not turn up enough clues to determine a specific cause of death after Monday's single-car crash in Seminole, officials said Monday. Bill Pellan, director of investigations for the Pinellas-Pasco medical examiner's office, said the result of Saturday's completed autopsy is "pending," meaning more testing will be performed.
Pellan said the medical examiner's office hopes to be more precise about the cause of death after conducting a histology test, which looks for finer trauma to the tissues as a result of disease or other health conditions. Savage's brother, "Leaping" Lanny Poffo, had told TMZ his brother had a heart attack behind the wheel. A toxicology test, which reveals the presence of substances in a body's tissues and fluids, will also be conducted, though results could take four to six weeks. Pellan did say that there was no evidence of drugs or alcohol, and none are suspected to be found by the routine tests.
"I don't want to mislead people," Pellan said Monday. "Whether it's Randy Savage or anyone else who died operating motor vehicle that suddenly veers off the road, we're going to run a toxicology report on them."
