'Beavis and Butt-Head' are returning to MTV

tbd-beavisbutthead020711.jpgLike it or not, Cornholio shall return. MTV has announced that the controversial cartoon Beavis and Butt-Head will return with all-new episodes set to air this summer. This is what happens when you cancel King of the Hill, Fox.

Series creator Mike Judge will be at the helm again for these new installments and will also continue to serve as the voice of the two head-banging roommates. The pop culture references in the show will be updated, though. That means instead of ogling Tawny Kitaen in a Whitesnake video, they'll be going gaga for Katy Perry on Sesame Street.

If nothing else, this is an encouraging sign that our retro remakes are progressing. We've gone from movies about the A-Team, which ended in 1987, to this show, which ended in 1997, in the space of a year. We should be caught up and have original movies and TV shows by 2013. Cross your fingers!
