Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, James Taylor to sing at President Obama's inauguration
President Barack Obama's Jan. 21 inauguration will be packing in the stars, with Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson and James Taylor singing the usual patriotic songs in D.C. Just so long as none of 'em wear a hat like Aretha Franklin did in 2009.
Beyonce will be in charge of the Star-Spangled Banner, People reports, while Clarkson will sing My Country 'Tis of Thee and Taylor gets America the Beautiful. If you'll recall, Be sang the Etta James hit At Last for the president and first lady Michelle Obama four years ago.
Civil rights activist Myrlie Evers-Williams will give the invocation and the Rev. Louie Giglio will provide the benediction, the mag notes, but more details about the ceremony is yet to be announced. That's why we're still waiting to learn that Slash and Eminem will perform Mahna Mahna together as the House majority takes their seats on Capitol Hill. That's a hit single, right there.
