Beyonce reads her letter to Michelle Obama on video
After Beyonce showed mad respect for First Lady Michelle Obama in April by posting a hand-written letter on her Tumblr stating Mrs. Obama "is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American Woman," Beyonce took it a smidge too far by filming herself reading the letter, a whole three months later. The DNC just may have had something to do with this. They'll still be expecting a campaign contribution, you know.
"She is a caring mother, she is a loving wife, while at the same time, she is the First Lady," Beyonce said in the letter, which was on President Barack Obama's YouTube channel (watch it above). "No matter the pressure, and the stress of being under the microscope, she's humble, loving, and sincere." The first lady's response when the letter was first written was, as you may have guessed, glowing.
"Thank you for the beautiful letter and for being a role model who kids everywhere can look up to," Mrs. Obama wrote on Twitter in April. She posted the new video on @MichelleObama Monday, conveniently enough. We're not so sure we'd want our kids looking up to Beyonce -- she has a habit of wearing outfits made of dental floss. But the Obamas can let Sasha and Malia look up to whomever they want.
Michelle Obama took the girls to a Beyonce concert in May and told People, "If I had a gift, I'd be Beyonce. I'd be some great singer." Because being First Lady of the United States isn't a high enough accomplishment. After all, Beyonce does run the world.
