Boy George can't get visa, cancels U.S. tour

Tbdboygeorge070208 If you were hoping (for some reason) to see Boy George in concert this summer, you're out of luck. The singer's 25-city tour was canceled after he couldn't secure a U.S. visa. So sad.

The 47-year-old (real name: George O'Dowd, had planned to start his run in Aspen, Colo., on July 10, but charges pending against the performer that he had chained up and held prisoner a 28-year-old man who showed up at George's London apartment for photo modeling threw a monkeywrench in the whole thing. He was supposed to play the Hard Rock Orlando on July 26 and Jannus Landing in St. Pete on July 27.

"I was really hoping that the issue would be resolved and that some kind soul at the U.S. Visa Office would realize that if the police in the U.K. placed no restrictions on my movements, that should have been good enough for them," O'Dowd said Tuesday. "I am very sorry that I will not see all my American fans this year, but I wish them a happy and healthy Fourth of July."

As long as we don't have to visit his flat, this Fourth will be just fine.
