Boy George found guilty of false imprisonment
Boy George, last seen picking up garbage on the streets of NYC for falsely reporting a burglarly at his apartment, was convicted Friday of false imprisonment for locking up a male escort at the singer's London apartment, the AP reports. We're pretty sure he didn't really want to hurt him.
Norwegian escort Audun Carlsen was handcuffed to a wall hook at George's flat on April 28, 2007, but only for less than an hour, so how bad could it have been? It seems the singer (real name: George O'Dowd) swung a metal chain at Carlsen as he tried to run out of the apartment after a nude photo shoot.
The 46-year-old O'Dowd says he slapped the cuffs on Carlsen while trying to figure out if the escort had removed photos of himself from George's computer, but he denied smacking him around, despite evidence of injury. Sentencing is Jan. 16; O'Dowd faces up to life in prison, although he likely won't get that long. Male escorts beware!
